Tech Tip: Read Markdown files (aka github README.md)

Recently I downloaded an archive on github for using offline in my laptop. Major part of this last is composed by a single .md file which is an “openguide” to aws. Md file stay for Markdown file: just a murkup language that needs an interpreter to be well formatted viewed.

The solution? Install a local gitlab? Be calm! someone thought this solution for you giving this ways:

  • use atom editor (https://atom.io/) with preview (right click to file in the directory tree)

This last is what I found really interesting because, in addiction to showing a render view of md file, it has the ability to export in HTML format. To enable view directly from url you must enable “Allow access url from file”.

And this the result:

enjoy!
