Cloud Field Day 25 is another exciting step in a journey that, for me, goes far beyond a single event.
For those unfamiliar with it, Cloud Field Day is part of the wider Tech Field Day series: an independent platform that brings together technology vendors and industry delegates to discuss, analyze, and challenge modern infrastructure, cloud, and platform solutions. Creating transparent technical conversations where real engineering discussions matter is the main goal of the events. So, Vendors present their solutions in deep-dive sessions, delegates (like me) ask direct and often challenging questions, and every discussion is streamed publicly so the wider community can learn alongside us. There are no prepared questions and no script to follow, all in the name of technical clarity, honest conversations, and shared learning.
Over the years, participating as a delegate has become an important part of my professional journey. It’s an opportunity to engage directly with engineers, architects, and product leaders, while continuously expanding my understanding of how platforms, cloud technologies, and automation are evolving. Each event brings new perspectives, new solutions, and challenges, which is exactly why it’s so valuable.
As part of Cloud Field Day 25, one of the companies presenting its technology is Hammerspace. This platform addresses one of the most persistent challenges in modern infrastructure: how to access and manage data consistently across hybrid, multi-cloud, and edge environments.
I’m looking forward to learning more about how Hammerspace approaches data mobility, metadata-driven orchestration, and hybrid cloud data management, and to understanding how these capabilities can support modern platform engineering and cloud-native environments.
Another key company presenting at Cloud Field Day 25 is VMware, now operating as part of Broadcom. For many organizations, VMware has long represented the foundation of modern datacenter infrastructure, and its evolution continues to play a major role in how enterprises approach hybrid and private cloud strategies. It will be interesting to see whether discussions during Cloud Field Day 25 highlight how platforms like VMware NSX continue to evolve in supporting modern application and database architectures.

Cloud Field Day 25 will also dedicate an important space to valuable insights from the industry analysis shared by The Futurum Group, a research and advisory firm focused on emerging technologies, digital transformation, and enterprise infrastructure trends.
Finally, an interesting presence around Cloud Field Day 25 is Internet Archive, the nonprofit organization best known for preserving the history of the web and providing open access to digital knowledge.
It will be fascinating to hear their insights and learn how an organization dedicated to preserving the history of the internet approaches the future of data infrastructure.
Tech Field Day also creates value on both sides of the table:
For presenting companies: It offers a chance to showcase technology in front of highly technical professionals who aren’t afraid to ask difficult questions. The feedback is immediate, authentic, and often incredibly useful for refining messaging and product direction.
For customer organizations and practitioners: It provides access to deep technical content, unfiltered discussions, and real-world context that help teams evaluate solutions beyond traditional marketing. Watching the dialogue between vendors and delegates can accelerate understanding and support more informed technology decisions.
As someone who has followed and participated in Tech Field Day events for 10 years, I continue to appreciate how they foster open dialogue, community learning, and great technical exchange. Cloud Field Day 25 is another opportunity to learn, challenge ideas, and share insights with the wider cloud and platform engineering community, and I’m looking forward to the conversations ahead.
